Development of heterogeneous catalysts for organic liquid-phase reactions

My work centers on the understanding and design of heterogeneous catalysts for organic liquid-phase reactions. By combining advanced spectroscopic techniques, kinetic studies, and computational modelling, we investigated mechanistic specificities of heterogeneous single-atom catalysts, a catalyst class where the active metal atoms are atomically dispersed in a solid carrier phase, in cross-couplings. Using these insights and leveraging an interdisciplinary collaborative approach, we explore novel catalytic materials and design strategies and aim to elucidate structure-performance relationships. Our ultimate goal is to create efficient and sustainable catalysts that drive transformative chemical processes, contributing to a greener and more resource-efficient industry.
